Oranges and Lemons - Day School

Course date: 28 February 2017

The winter months herald the arrival of citrus fruit ripe for preserving. Join us for the day to capture their flavours to eat and cook with all the year round. The day is mostly practical with some tutor demonstrations. Learn the art of creating full flavoured citrus preserves using the methods championed by the Women’s Institute. By the end of the day, there will be jars of marmalade, chutney, pickle and curd to take home.

Let's Make Cheese (Part 2)

Course dates: 01 March 2017 - 03 March 2017

Join farmer's wife and cheese maker Louise Talbot for a fascinating course in making cheese at home. Louise will show you how to make clotted cream, plus range of hard cheeses including cheddar and camembert. She will also share some great recipes which incorporate cheese. This is a follow on course, so it is essential that you have completed our introductory course 'Let's Make Cheese' prior to doing this course as it will have given you the grounding and knowledge to make the more complex cheeses included in our part 2 course.

Learn about the exciting flavours of Thai cookery and the art of balancing the characteristic taste sensations of sweet, sour, saltiness and heat. The course will feature some of the country’s most famous dishes, including salads, noodle dishes and, of course, curries made from home-made curry paste.
