Join Jessica’s brand-new 3-part genealogy course, where you will learn valuable skills and strategies to take your research to the next level. This course will be perfect for you if you have already attended Jessica’s Beginners’ Course or if you have been researching your family tree for at least two years.
The course will cover the skills and techniques you need to take your research to the next level, including: effective use of the Internet; how to find and make sense of early records and sources; how to analyse evidence; how to read old handwriting; how to solve genealogical mysteries; and how to carry out a one-name study.
Course dates & times:
This course will take place over 3 fortnightly sessions.
Each session will be approx 60 minutes long where you will be given homework to complete between sessions:
Part 1 (1 September 2022 7:30pm)
Part 2 (15 September 2022 7:30pm)
Part 3 (29 September 2022 7:30pm)
Each session will be recorded to allow you to play back a recording in your own time. The recordings will be sent out as a link by Denman via email within 24 hours of the completion of the session and will be viewable for the subsequent 14 days. This means that you don't need to worry if you miss a live session or need to refresh your memories of any important points made.
This is not a course for those just getting started with their family history. The assumption will be made that attendees are very familiar with census records, parish registers and civil birth, marriage and death records, and this material will not be covered. If you have not yet taken Jessica’s Beginners’ Course, the new 3 part series will be starting from Thursday 6th October at 4pm in fortnightly instalments.
