Start the weekend with another Friday night sing- and strum-along session with Denman’s ukulele tutor Richard Partridge.
There’s a distinctly autumnal feel about our September selection of songs. We evoke the changing of the leaves: “All the leaves are brown”, sing the Mamas & the Papas, while for Simon and Garfunkel the green leaves are just starting to turn. For the first time, we are going to attempt to sing in French (and English) along with Edith Piaf in Autumn Leaves. There are classic songs from the Great American Songbook by Ethel Waters, Ruth Etting, B.J. Thomas and Dinah Washington, plus a more recent classic from Green Day.
Ukulele strummers with a basic knowledge of chords will be able to play all the songs but for those of you who like a bit more of a challenge some songs feature more complex techniques which are explained as we go. If you don’t play ukulele, you are welcome to enjoy singing the songs with us. Bass ukulele and bass guitar players are also welcome.
Song sheets with lyrics and chord symbols will be attached to your confirmation email, either for printing out or displaying on an electronic device. You will need to be able to see each song sheet alongside the device you are attending the Zoom meeting on.
Zoom log in details will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered.
(If you do not receive a confirmation email please check your spam/junk email boxes or sign into the 'Your Account' section of the Denman website to retrieve all of your booking and course information)
