Come to Denman for a midweek break, with a range of workshops covering a variety topics. This is the perfect opportunity to experience a selection of taster classes in the stunning environs of Denman, with its beautiful Georgian manor house and seventeen acres of grounds. You’ll learn, relax, be entertained and eat…possibly a little too well! Prices include all teaching, workshop materials and two nights of accommodation, plus welcome drinks, breakfast, lunch, three-course dinners and unlimited tea and coffee. Free Machine Embroidery with Claire Muir
If you fancy having a go at free machine embroidery then come along to this course. Aimed at complete beginners you will soon see just how much fun and versatile this contemporary technique is. You will learn about free machine applique and use a variety of fabrics to create a machine embroidered picture that you can take home to frame.
Make a Fine Silver Pendant using Silver Clay with Louise Simmonds
This is a really exciting and creative form of Jewellery making using Silver Clay, which when fired is transformed into Fine silver. Fine Silver is a precious metal with a Silver content of 99.9% - a higher purity value than Sterling Silver which is 92.5%. Silver. You will use a mould to make an intricate Silver replica choosing from a range of items such as decorative charms, shells and many other found objects. This will then be fired polished and finished ready for you to take home.
Yoga with Jacqueline Rice
You will learn about the different types of pranayama (breath work) and their effects on the body and mind. You will have a brief overview of yogic theory and look at some restorative yoga poses.
Beaded Lace Style Necklace with Sally Boehme
Using seed beads and pretty drop beads known as Daggers, you will create a pretty necklace that is light and easy to wear. The necklace looks like a beaded net and indeed, the stitch is known as beaded netting stitch. The piece will be elegantly finished with a beaded toggle and loop, the toggle being worked in Peyote stitch. Suitable for those new to the bead weaving world and those who wish to learn more.
