These are certainly part of the city’s history, but there is so much more. In this new series of lectures, Simon (who owns a house in the city with his partner Matthew) will explore the history of the US as seen through the lens of Detroit, and the state of Michigan in which it sits. This first instalment will examine the early years of the city, when it was founded by the French nobleman Cadillac.
