Special Event: The History of Woodturning

WI Member: From £42.00

Non Member: From £47.00

Venue: Not Applicable

Visit Denman and learn about the rich history of woodturning, which reaches back to ancient times. Until quite recently it remained a hand craft, in which hand-held tools cut wood spinning in a lathe. At Denman however, Charles from TouchWood Crafts will take you through the traditional method of using a pole lathe. Starting with a log he will demonstrate the whole process step-by-step, whilst discussing the people and machines that have advanced this most ancient and hands-on of techniques. A unique afternoon to be had, with lots to learn and plenty to see!
