On Demand Ancestry : Family History with Jessica – Focus on Occupations

Sign Up Now: £5.00

Welcome to our new ‘Denman On Demand’ courses, where you can tune into pre recorded demonstrations & talks at a time which suits you! This class will be available to view for 7 days after purchase.

This talk will show you how to find sources that can help you learn about your ancestors’ lives, based on the jobs they did. Was your ancestor an agricultural labourer or a domestic servant? A vicar or a gloveress? Whatever they did for a living, you can find out if there are records or other sources that will tell you more.

This session is suitable for you if you’re a complete family history beginner, and also if you have already made progress in your research and would like to find out more. We usually come across a mention of our ancestors’ occupations in census records, or in birth, baptism and marriage records. But what else can we learn about them once we know what their occupation was?

The session will give you the knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm to carry on your research at home or using your local library. You will also be able to contact Jessica if you have further questions at any time.

Please note this is a recording from a live talk.

The recording link will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered and you’ll be able to view immediately.

(If you do not receive a confirmation email please check your spam/junk email boxes or sign into  the ‘Your Account’ section of the Denman website to retrieve all of your booking and course information)
