Welcome to our new ‘Denman On Demand’ courses, where you can tune into pre recorded demonstrations & talks at a time which suits you! This class will be available to view for 7 days after purchase.

Beatrix Potter had the advantages of a wealthy family which enabled travel opportunities, but which restricted her wishes for an independent achieving life, as with many Victorian ladies of her class. Her real scientific abilities were suppressed by male bias and domination and in the end she achieved fame as a much-loved writer of children’s stories. She finally achieved independence and helped the nascent National Trust in her beloved Lake District by purchasing and preserving many sheep farms.

Please note this is a recording from a live talk.
