Join Geoff for this exploration into the remarkable lives of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole – two pioneering nurses from very different worlds and backgrounds, caring for wounded soldiers during the Crimean War 1853-1856.

Nightingale went on to gain a reputation of being the founder of modern nursing, however Seacole’s name largely disappeared into obscurity, however her valuable contribution has gained increasing notoriety and acclaim in more recent years. Both women’s paths crossed, however their relationship was not a particularly friendly one – Join Geoff as he peels back the layers on this fascinating period of time and a very complex relationship between two women determined to make a difference.
