Celtic knotwork can be an interesting creation on its own, or as a border for any of your drawings, stamped or otherwise crafted delights. Or you can just be excited to recreate something you have seen in illustrations, up to the majestic examples you can find in illuminated books such as the Book of Kells. Of course, your first steps will be a little more down to earth!
If you are interested in making your own knotwork drawings, this is the class for you. I’ll be teaching two basic techniques to create knotwork designs, as well as giving a very brief introduction into the workings of animal designs (so you understand how they come to be and can further explore in your own time).
What do you need to participate?
- Paper (preferably 'square paper' or several printed pages of the templates attached to confirmation email)
- A printout of ‘Knotwork worksheets.pdf’ (attached to confirmation email)
- A pencil and eraser
- A pen
- Coloured pencils / felt pens / watercolours to add colour to your final design
But most of all you’ll need a curious mind and the intention to have some fun!
Instructions, Materials List, Templates and Zoom log in details will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered.
