Everything you could wish to draw can be broken down into a series of basic shapes. Therefore, getting comfortable with drawing shapes is an important step on your pursuit of learning how to draw.
For the first part of the workshop, we will practice drawing shapes in pencil with the overhand grip. This skill may seem very basic, but confidently mastering such key elements will build skill sets and confidence both of which will stand you in good stead for the next steps in your drawing journey.
The second part of the session will be to draw shapes in a playful, repetitive way transforming basic elements into patterns. These doodle patterns are not only an enjoyable creative activity, they will also encourage you to consider how shapes evolve with application of a creative mindset.
The aim of the course is to continue to build confidence and basic skills for your ongoing drawing journey as well as simply enjoy the act the creation whilst learning.
This session is suitable for people without any artistic background, people returning to art after a long time or simply desire more creative play.
