Making textile art is wonderful. No messy paints to worry about or brushes to wash out afterwards. Textile art can be anything but usually begins with,”Where do I start”, Unless you are very fortunate and are blessed with amazing design skills it can be really difficult to make that first mark.
This collage method means you can construct your work of art using cut-outs, blocks of colour, beautiful coloured wools and silks without losing your cool. Be inspired by a photograph, an abstract painting or a nursery rhyme, using the wet-felting method, lovely merino wool, soap and water you can create art to be proud of. Embellish it afterwards and you have created a masterpiece.
Part/Week One: will show you how to begin to felt, create a pallet of colour and design and how to combine them.
Part/Week Two: Sue will take you through the designing process, assembling your picture and the felting process. She will show you the different embellishing techniques to complete your work of art.
You can either sit back and watch the demonstration or felt-along. If you do intend to felt-along, please ensure you have all of your equipment and materials ready to go (listed below).
Zoom log in details will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered.
