Shaker greeting cards are some of the most fun cards to make and to receive. Children especially enjoy them, and the use of shaker cards at Christmas makes for an exquisite snow scene.
So, what is a shaker card? At its most simple it is a card that has a window, over a sealed section that has things inside it. The items in the sealed area look best when shaken, and it’s from this the name of ‘shaker’ cards comes.
Many different items can be put to use in a shaker card. Bright shiny sequins, small beads, buttons, die cut and punched shapes, confetti, the list goes on. Once the basic principle is learned, you can add a shaker element to lots of paper crafted items. Book covers, memory boxes, scrapbook layouts, gift tags and of course greeting cards.
This class will cover the basic technique used to make shaker cards. This technique can then be transferred to be used however you want to. For this class Liz will demonstrate three different shaker shapes and show how they can be used on greeting cards. Liz loves answering your questions and enjoys seeing your creations too.
