Have you been missing your WI friends lately? Why not join Claire to make your very own WI dolly to keep you company until we can all meet again, or to give as a special ‘thank you’ gift to someone who has been a star during lockdown? If you are not a WI member, the demonstration will also show you how to make other versions such as a Baker or Gardener. Using machine and hand sewing, the session will cover the materials and techniques to make the doll and her clothes. This will include a technique for printing words and images onto fabric to make the doll’s apron.
Don’t worry if you have not been able to get out to the fabric shops lately, or if you don’t have the ideal materials to hand. In the true spirit of ‘Make Do and Mend’ Claire will show you how to adapt the materials to use things you may already have at home, such as items of clothing that can be re-cycled.(Note that you will need some specialist paper and use of a printer if you would like to print onto the apron. The paper can be bought on-line and is not expensive).
This session is a demonstration, rather than a make-along, so you can just relax and watch and then make the doll at your own pace afterwards. A list of materials, pattern and instructions will be sent with your confirmation email.
Zoom log in details and a full instruction sheet and pattern will be included at the bottom of your confirmation email after you have registered.
