During the course, students will create an animal sculpture using Powertex art products & recycled textiles. Students will be able to choose to make a Sheep, Highland Cattle, or Bison animal sculpture. We will cover a number of techniques including building a simple armature, mixing air-drying clay, wet dip sculpting techniques & mixing/dry brushing with pigments. The course is ideal for beginners, new to Powertex. Students will discover creative talents they didn't know they had with this exciting & versatile medium. Examples of other projects that can be achieved using Powertex will be available to view during the course to inspiration.

Annette is a self taught creative, having developed skills in embroidery, ceramics and mixed media. Originally working in the corporate IT industry for over 20 years she retrained as a therapist and went on to. run her own successful therapy business for 10 years before falling head over heels in love with Powertex fabric sculpting in 2013.
Annette is a fully certified Level 4 Powertex tutor, Creative team leader in the West Midlands and runs a Powertex training academy in Leamington Spa. Alongside this she is also a very active design team member.
Annette has exhibited at the Welsh Assembly, Pierhead and NEC as well as taking part in Warwickshire Open Studios and Art in the Park.

NOTES FOR STUDENTS
Preparation for this Course:
- Bring old clothes to work in
- tie up long hair
- remove rings & bracelets
Protective aprons & gloves will be supplied.
There will be an additional cost of approximately £25 to cover material costs.
Your finished animal will measure approx 300mm long x 215mm high.
It is advisable to bring a piece of bubble wrap with you to wrap your sculpture for the journey home.
