During the course, students will create two figure sculptures from recycled textiles & Powertex art products, suitable for outdoor display once dry.
We will cover a number of techniques including making armatures using two different methods, material selection, dry wrapping, wet wrapping, & mixing/dry brushing with pigments.
The course is ideal for beginners, new to Powertex. Students will discover creative talents they didn't know they had with this exciting & versatile medium. Examples of other projects that can be achieved using Powertex will be available to view during the course to inspiration.
There will be an additional cost of approximately £25 to cover material costs.
Figures measure approximately 500mm tall.
Notes for Students
Please wear old clothes, tie back long hair & remove jewellery, especially rings & bracelets.
It is advisable to bring several pieces of bubble wrap with you to wrap your sculptures in for the journey home.
Aprons & gloves are provided by the tutor, along with all materials, but if you have any natural fibre textiles at home that you wish to incorporate into your sculpture then please bring these along to the course where your tutor can advise on suitability of use.
