Melanie's talk will explore the story of a servant girl born in the village of Aldington in Kent in 1506. During the reign of Henry VIII, the young woman's and visions and prophesies were to bring her national and international attention and were deemed so dangerous to Henry VIII, Katherine of Aragon and Ann Boleyn that Elizabeth Barton had to be put to death, aged just 28.  The talk will include work of Kent artist Lauren McMahan.
