With varied walks among the awaking spring countryside, we first briefly visit Bibury, en route to the surreal warren landscape by Foss Way, and look for rare pasqueflowers. Further on, near the source of the Thames, we discover Cricklade’s North Meadow, home to spectacular shows of snake’s-head fritillaries, and enjoy cream scones & teas at the local museum.
On the second day we visit Sydlings Copse “one of the richest habitats in middle England”, an astonishing mosaic of landscapes and textures, with spring flowers and alive with birdsong. After lunch at Denman we enjoy stunning views at Wittenham Clumps, by the Thames.
Illustrated talks and discussion in evening, local countryside walk on final day. (up to 5 miles/day; mostly flat, occasional gentle hill).Book Now
